Fran
Fran was in very poor condition when she arrived at the Trust, having travelled by boat from Ireland. Overwork had rendered her lame; she had badly trimmed, bleeding feet and was suffering from lice and malnutrition. Her feet have never fully recovered and she still gets laminitis, a painful foot problem. She has light brown rings round her eyes so they look as if she has put on eye makeup - just for you - although, at the time this photo was taken, she was obviously having a bad hair day.... Fran is usually found in the back paddock where it is a bit quieter.
